The 12th Supplementary Exam which was held from 19th June to 26th June has concluded and the results are about to be published today afternoon on the website www.dge.tn.gov.in.
The General examination for class 12 which was conducted on 13th March saw 8,03,385 Tamil Nadu and Puducherry students appear for the exam. Out of these 7,55,451 students passed, securing a passing percentage of 94.03%. 4,21,013 students wrote the examination, out of whom 4,05,753 passed, achieving a passing percentage of 96.38% and 3,82,371 students of which 3,49,697 passed with a passing percentage of 91.45%. There was also success for one third gender student for the exam. Interestingly, a 4.93% higher passing percentage was seen for female students when compared to the male student passing percentage.
Amongst the successful students was Nandini from Dindigul Education District who secured a near perfect score of 600 out of 600 marks by scoring 100 out of 100 marks in various subjects such as Tamil, English, Computer Usage, Economics, Accountancy and Commerce. This feat of hers earned her the position of the first topper in both Tamil Nadu and Dindigul district.
In an effort to provide an opportunity to those who had initially failed the examination, and due to circumstances were unable to attend, the Supplementary Exam was conducted. The Directorate of Government Examinations Sethurama Varma released a statement that the results of which will be released later this afternoon on the website www.dge.tn.gov.in. After logging in with their exam number and date of birth, candidates are able to download their mark certificates.
