The highly anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is launching with 16 new maps, but only a select few will be available during the game’s beta phase.
Beta Schedule and Access
For those who have pre-ordered Black Ops 6, the beta kicks off on August 30 and runs through September 3 across all platforms. For players who didn’t pre-order, open access to the beta will be available from September 6 to September 9.
The beta is focused solely on multiplayer content, so you'll have to wait until the full release to experience the Zombies mode and the campaign.
All Black Ops 6 Beta Game Modes
Here’s what to expect from the game modes featured in the Black Ops 6 beta:
- Team Deathmatch: Classic mode where teams work together to eliminate enemy players and reach the score limit.
- Domination: Capture and hold up to three zones to accumulate points for your team. In this version, zones replace the traditional flag capture system.
- Hardpoint: Secure and defend rotating zones (called Hardpoints) to earn points. Zones are now numbered, giving teams better planning options for rotations.
- Face Off: A fast-paced mode with small, close-quarters maps. It includes 2v2, 1v1, and 3v3 matchups.
- Kill Order: Each team has a high-value target (HVT). All kills contribute to the score, but eliminating the HVT grants bonus points. The HVT gets extra armor and their screen alerts them when an enemy is nearby.
- Gunfight: Small, tactical battles where players use pre-assigned loadouts. The objective is to eliminate the opposing team with no respawns available.
All Black Ops 6 Beta Maps
The beta will feature a selection of maps from the full release. Here’s the breakdown:
- Core Maps: Scud, Babylon, Rewind, Skyline, Derelict (Core maps support 6v6 matches).
- Strike Maps: Gala, Pit, Stakeout (Strike maps feature both 6v6 and 2v2 lobbies).
Notably, Rewind and the Kill Order game mode were added later in the beta, so if you're seeing this after the start, you can now experience these features. Kill Order will also appear in the Moshpit playlist.
Specific maps are tied to certain modes:
- Stakeout is exclusive to Gunfight.
- Pit is exclusive to Face Off.
- Gala appears in both alternative playlists.
Core maps are designed for traditional 6v6 battles, while Strike maps cater to both larger and smaller engagements. The Strike maps omit scorestreaks, enhancing the intensity of close-quarters combat.
Get ready for an action-packed beta as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 gives players a taste of what’s to come!
