Fortnite has officially announced the format and prize pool for the highly anticipated FNCS 2025 season, with a surprise return of a fan-favorite feature.

FNCS 2024 Champions & Tournament Recap

The 2024 Fortnite competitive season wrapped up with Pollo and Peterbot from EXD crowned as the FNCS Global Champions. Competing against 24 other duos, the two-day tournament was held at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, where 50 of the best Fortnite players who qualified through FNCS Majors battled it out for a whopping $2,002,000 prize pool and the prestigious gold FNCS trophy.

Some of the tournament's most recognizable names included 2019 World Cup winner Bugha, streamer and XSET owner Clix, and past FNCS Global winners like Veno, Cooper, Mero, Kami, and Setty. Pollo and Peterbot dominated the competition, amassing a 147-point lead and securing 4 Victory Royales to claim the championship. Along with the trophy, they took home a massive $400,000 in prize money.

FNCS 2025: New Format and $8M Prize Pool

With the FNCS 2024 season concluded, Fortnite has unveiled the format and prize pool for the upcoming FNCS 2025 season. The prize pool has been increased to $8,000,000, up from last year's $7 million. The boost in prize money coincides with a shift back to the Trios format, a departure from the Duos format that has been the standard for the past two years.

In 2025, Trios teams will compete in FNCS Regional Tournaments throughout the year, with the top teams advancing to the FNCS Global Championship 2025. Siphon Returns: Fan-Favorite Feature Back for FNCS 2025

A major highlight for the FNCS 2025 season is the return of the beloved Siphon feature. This Battle Royale mechanic, which rewards players with health and shields after eliminations, will make its comeback after a two-year hiatus. Before it’s fully integrated into the FNCS Majors and Global matches, Fortnite will host a separate tournament known as the Siphon Trials. This event will test the mechanic in Trios lobbies to ensure it works seamlessly with the updated gameplay of the new season.

Once the testing phase is complete, Epic Games will decide if Siphon will officially become part of the FNCS competitive matches throughout 2025.
