Dr. Stone Season 4 Episode 4: A Thrilling Recap
The episode kicks off with Senku’s scout team heading upriver, trying to stay hidden from their attackers. Senku theorizes that their pursuers must have been revived like himself and have advanced along a similar scientific path. However, the shocking reveal comes when Ukyo Saionji detects an engine sound—not from behind, but from above.

To everyone’s disbelief, a combat-ready propeller plane appears in the sky, proving that scientific advancements in the Stone World have reached new heights. While Senku is visibly stunned, his scientist’s curiosity is also piqued.
A High-Stakes Chase Turns Into a Battle
The enemy pilot attacks Senku’s group with a machine gun, destroying their boats and leaving them stranded in the water. Just as things look grim, Senku quickly devises a counterattack, instructing Kirisame to throw a special concoction at the plane.
In a last-second save, the mysterious mixture causes the plane’s engine to malfunction and stall, forcing the pilot to retreat. Soon after, an ally of the pilot confirms that Senku used acetylene gas to sabotage the plane. Their conversation also reveals that the pilot, like Senku, was once petrified and that he works under a brilliant scientist—someone who is shaping up to be Senku’s greatest rival yet.
Senku’s Counterattack: Claiming the Enemy’s Plane
Instead of taking the opportunity to escape, Senku makes a bold decision—they’re going after the enemy. Kohaku, using her sharp tracking skills, quickly locates the downed plane, but the pilot is nowhere to be found. Wasting no time, Senku claims the plane for the Kingdom of Science, much to Gen’s amusement.
Soon, Kohaku discovers corn kernels and leaves inside the aircraft, a clue that hints at the enemy’s hidden cornfield runway. Senku and Tsukasa agree that capturing the pilot could give them valuable intel, leading Kohaku, Chrome, and Gen to set off on a stealth mission.
Gen’s Dangerous Gamble: A Game of Lies Begins
As they follow the pilot’s trail, Gen realizes something is off. He warns Chrome and Kohaku to stay back and leaves a trail of flowers to guide them in case of danger. Moving forward on his own, Gen boldly calls out to the enemy, prompting the pilot to reveal himself.
Within moments, Gen finds a gun pointed at him. The pilot searches him but finds nothing threatening. However, he quickly picks up on Gen’s trickster nature, calling him out for being more than just a harmless magician.
Intrigued, the pilot invites Gen to meet his leader, someone he refers to as “the doctor.”
Dr. Xeno & Stanley Snider: The True Threat Revealed
Gen is led to a massive hidden base, featuring a cornfield, livestock, tractors, and even a factory-like building—all signs that their enemies have built an advanced civilization.
The pilot then takes him to a silo inside the main facility, where he calls out to Dr. Xeno. Gen immediately sizes up the mysterious scientist, describing him as an “adult version of Senku”—a true scientific genius.
Dr. Xeno introduces himself and reveals that the pilot’s name is Stanley Snider, a former soldier who now serves as his right-hand man.
Gen’s Risky Bluff: Can He Fool Dr. Xeno?
As Gen introduces himself, he notices he’s already hooked up to a lie detector. Despite maintaining his cool, it quickly becomes clear that Dr. Xeno sees right through him.
In a tense final moment, Xeno demands to know the name of the Kingdom of Science’s leader. In a bold move to protect Senku, Gen lies and names Taiju instead.
The episode ends on a major cliffhanger, leaving fans questioning: Will Gen’s lie hold up, or has he just put himself and the Kingdom of Science in serious danger?
What’s Next? (Speculative)
