Filmmaker SS Rajamouli has officially launched a state-of-the-art, Dolby-certified post-production facility at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad, in collaboration with Dolby. This advanced facility aims to elevate the audio-visual standards of Indian filmmaking, delivering cinematic experiences that meet global benchmarks.

Rajamouli’s Vision for Indian Cinema
At the launch event, Rajamouli expressed his excitement, sharing a personal experience. He recalled that during the making of RRR, when the team wanted to grade the film in Dolby Vision, they had to travel all the way to Germany. He mentioned how disheartening it was not to be able to experience his film in Dolby Vision in India. However, he is now thrilled to see the new Dolby Vision grading facility at Annapurna Studios, making this technology accessible to Indian filmmakers.
Rajamouli also looked ahead, sharing that by the time his next film releases, Dolby Cinema will be available in multiple locations across India. He emphasized how Dolby Vision transforms the cinematic experience, enhancing every frame with crystal-clear clarity and bringing the storytelling to life in a whole new way.
Celebrating Innovation at Annapurna Studios
A special clip from Rajamouli’s Academy Award-winning film RRR was also showcased at the launch, highlighting the facility’s capabilities.
Nagarjuna Akkineni, Vice Chairman of Annapurna Studios, spoke about the studio’s commitment to innovation in Indian cinema. He proudly shared how Annapurna Studios has always been at the forefront of adopting new technologies, from pioneering virtual production to now hosting India’s first Dolby Certified Postproduction Facility for Cinema & Home. As the studio celebrates its 50th anniversary, Nagarjuna believes this collaboration with Dolby is a significant step in furthering Annapurna’s legacy of embracing change and shaping the future of Indian cinema.
